ICB support added
7 years after the first request for ICB support was received,
it finally becomes a reality! See the ircII-current support
below for where to get ICB enabled ircII! This client allows
multiple IRC/ICB connections from the one client, includes
some of the normal ircII /ON hooks. The /load icb
has also been provided add familiar ICB commands. See the
ICB and LOAD ICB help files.

CAST-128 Encryption added
ircII 4.4I also includes CAST-128 encryption for both normal messages
(private or channel) and for dcc chat sessions. There is no key
management and thus it is very important that keys be synchronised
outside of ircII in a secure fashion. If someone can eaves drop your
key, why bother encrypt?
Many bugs fixed in ircII-current.
Since the successful ircII 4.4 release, several serious bug reports
have been received, and acted upon. Most of these new bugs are fixed
in ircII-current (and all of the serious ones have been). Check out
ircII-current.
ircII 4.4
was released on the 7th of December, 1997, the first release of
ircII in more than 2.5 years, since the April 1995 ircII 2.8.2 release.
